Peels are used for dull or uneven tone, post-acne marks and hyperpigmentation, sun-induced discoloration, surface congestion, blackheads, active and comedonal acne, rough or uneven texture, and fine lines. A peel is not performed over an active sunburn or a compromised barrier, and deeper damage is sometimes better addressed by another treatment, which we'll say at consultation.

The tiers are three depths. Tier 1 is a surface peel for brightening, mild congestion, and maintenance with little downtime, and it's the right starting point for most clients. Tier 2 is mid-depth, with visible peeling, for marks and texture a lighter peel has not resolved. Tier 3 is a medical-grade peel for deeper pigmentation, sun damage, active acne, and resistant texture, prescribed and supervised under medical director oversight. We recommend the depth most likely to produce results for your skin, not the strongest option, and we decide together at your consultation.

It depends on the depth. A Tier 1 peel usually means mild redness and light flaking over one to three days, with most clients back to normal the same day. A Tier 2 peel brings redness and tightness for a day or two, then visible peeling from around day two through day five. A Tier 3 medical peel runs a fuller shed over five to seven days, with several more days of pinkness, so plan a real recovery window. Across every depth, do not pick the flaking skin.

Most concerns respond best to a series, since each renewal cycle builds on the last, with light maintenance over time. We confirm the right number and spacing at your visit based on the depth and what we're treating. Season matters too: fall and winter are the easiest times to peel because lower sun exposure makes healing safer and protects new skin from sun-triggered discoloration. Summer is workable if you're strict about sun protection.

Peels can be appropriate across a wide range of skin types when the depth and solution are matched carefully. Deeper, medical-grade peels call for extra assessment on richer skin tones and on sensitive or compromised skin, and some skin may need priming beforehand to reduce the risk of post-treatment pigment. We review your skin and history first and will tell you directly if a peel, or a particular depth, is not the right option for you.

Yes. Visible peeling depends on the tier. Lighter peels often don't flake at all, and you'll still get the benefit underneath. The amount you shed isn't a measure of how well it worked.

At least two weeks, and frankly SPF should be a daily habit anyway. After a peel your fresh skin is highly pigment-prone, and sun exposure is the most common cause of post-peel dark spots. Hat and shade help too.

No. Don't pick, pull, or exfoliate, even if it looks patchy. Let it shed on its own. Speeding it up risks scarring and uneven pigment, which is the opposite of what the peel is for.
