What causes aging

Aging happens in three layers at once: deep structure, mid-layer texture, and surface tone

We treat all three, whether you're preventing the first lines or correcting change that's already set in.

Skin ages in three stacked layers at once, and real correction needs to reach all of them at the same time.

As we age, the deepest layer of skin starts to decline first, often in your mid-twenties. Collagen and elastin, the proteins that give skin its structure, start to decline, creating sagging, deeper lines, and a loss of firmness.

The middle layer, described as the bounce layer, degrades next, leaving lines that don’t soften away.

The top layer, your skin’s surface, sees sun damage, slower cell turnover, and pigment changes, creating dullness and uneven tone.

An effective treatment plan will address each layer’s challenges through treatment and product. We will personalize your plan according to your skin issues and address the usual suspects: the sun and other environmental factors, diet and inflammation.

Aging doesn't reverse in one visit. It's a series, then maintenance, tailored specifically to your skin, even as it evolves.

We read how aging is showing up in your unique skin and treat all three layers, not only the lines you can see. For deep aging, we rebuild collagen with microneedling and, where change is more set, more penetrating laser treatments. For mid-layer texture and tone, we resurface with laser peels and chemical peels. For surface pigment and sun damage, we use light-based treatment and gentle renewal. Your mix of treatments, and how many sessions, depend on whether you're preventing or correcting, and we’ll help you figure it out.

Home care isn't optional here. Cosmeceutical-grade products between visits hold and extend your results; an over-the-counter routine alone won't get you there. We prescribe a simple routine and rotate it as your skin and the seasons change.

What to expect

Results and downtime

A single treatment can give you a fresher surface, or temporary results. The structural change you really want takes time, compounding across the series and your at-home routine.

For prevention, a few sessions plus maintenance is often enough to stay ahead.

For correction, plan on more sessions, probably across more than one treatment, over several months, then maintenance.

Downtime varies widely: microneedling is a day or two of redness and light flaking; laser peels run from minimal to several days by depth. The deepest resurfacing carries real recovery we reserve for specific candidates. Light-based and laser work is best in the cooler months.
